Time Attack

You unlock this by beating the top score in the Score Attack mode.

In Time Attack, you are of course racing against the clock. First, you go for your Yellow Yoshi. I got mine at 128 points. Now for the time attack part, you have to shoot all 4 bad guys that are carrying baby Mario before time runs out. Your aim here is to draw clouds as often as possible so you are not touching the ground. Clouds are fast to run on - the ground is slow. At the beginning you have to go through mine fields. Simply avoid the first 2, then shoot your way through the remaining ones. You want to save your eggs up for the later part.

Once you clear the minefield, you are going to alternate between shooting away at the flying guys and going to the ground to get fruit to recharge. It's sort of challenging to both watch the top screen to see where to shoot, and the bottom screen to see when to draw clouds in the middle of the screen and when to go down to grab a fruit. It does take some practice. Really, don't shoot ANYTHING in the lower area once you're past the first 2 mine-shooting plants. After that, just run a line of clouds across the ground and drop down whenever you see a fruit. That way it's as simple as possible, while you shoot upwards.

Once you're a good shot, it's really not TOO bad - you shoot a few times to get one guy away from the "pack". You then shoot that loner to drive him off. You recharge, and do it again. When you're almost done with them all, a swarm of helpers will come in - just shoot away to blast them, and take out the remaining kidnapper. I can do this in 3:40.
