Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny
Forced into retirement, Indiana Jones’ swashbuckling days appear to be long behind him. But when his goddaughter, Helena, arrives on the scene in search of the half of Antikythera dial that he had stored away, Indy gets pulled back into one last adventure---to find the dial of Archimedes before a past foe can retrieve it and change history. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”.
· Indy has been teaching when he receives a visit from Helena at his office. When they’re suddenly attacked, Indy picks up the phone to call the police. Indy is ordered to hang the phone up and he places the receiver back in its cradle. In the front view of the phone, as Indy stands up, the handle is clean. But, in the close-up of the phone as Indy is being taken away, there is now blood smeared on the handle.
· There is a flashback scene with a younger Helena while Indy is on the plane. During the scene, he walks in on Basil, Helena’s father, trying to smash half of the Antikythera mechanism with a hammer. The mechanism is on the table as the two begin to argue over its significance. When Basil sits down and Indy says, “Give it to me, please.”, Basil is now holding the mechanism tightly against his chest.
· Indy, Helena and Teddy escape from Dr. Voller and his men with the graphikos tablet in tow. Indy places the tablet on the edge of a table and douses it with whiskey. He puts the bottle and the cork on the table next to the tablet and proceeds to light it on fire with a lighter. Indy then drops the lighter on the table. The scene cuts to a farther view and the tablet is closer to the middle of the table. The scene cuts back to the original view with the tablet near the edge, but the bottle, cork and lighter aren’t near it. They’re back in the next farther view.
“Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” (2023) stars Harrison Ford, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelson, Ethann Isidore, Toby Jones, Antonio Banderas, Karen Allen, Shaunette Renee Wilson, John Rhys-Davies and Thomas Kretschmann.
